In the last few years, an increasing number of the Athena suppliers have been committed to reducing CO2 emissions and decreasing the use of water and energy in the production phase, thanks to solar panels that help generate electricity and, by absorbing solar energy during the summer season, allow to reduce the use of refrigeration systems while keeping the meat at the perfect temperature required.
Although Athena does not have its own production, it is active in reducing its CO2 emissions thanks to a photovoltaic system installed on the roof of the company’s headquarters, thus reducing consumption.
